In this Tony-award-winning musical farce, the unnamed protagonist (man in a chair) seeks solace from his blues by tuning in to his favorite, albeit fictional, musical, The Drowsy Chaperone. As his record playing fills his lonely apartment, so too does the musical itself! A show within a show, the story deals with love, mistaken identity, gangsters posing as pastry chefs, all wrapped up in a satirical bow. You won't want to miss this jazzy and hilarious show!
Woodbury Bulletin Highlights Miller Brothers
The Woodbury Bulletin featured Shane, Dante and Michael Miller in its article about The Loft Stage’s upcoming production of Into the Woods. The Miller Brothers are a great musical team as DAnte plays in the pit band, Shane runs our lighting crew and Michael plays one of the Three Little Pigs.
Gala and Silent Auction Support Educational Theater
Our 6th annual Gala and Silent Auction will continue to support student opportunities in educational theater through scholarships, workshop opportunities, specialized staff and ongoing programs like the International Thespian Society and the Spotlight Musical Theatre Program.
This year’s event will not only have performances by local recording artist Verskotzi and food catered from Green Mill, Walt Disney Studios will be on hand to help promote the upcoming movie of Into the Woods, opening on Christmas Day. The silent auction will be the best yet with original works of art, sports memorabilia, local restaurants and businesses as well as priceless pieces from our shows.
The gala costs only $10.00 and all proceeds will go to support East Ridge Theater’s education programs. The event begins at 6:00pm on November 7th prior to our 7:30pm opening night performance of Into the Woods.

Verskotzi Headlines Opening Night Gala
Joey Verskotzi will help set the tone for a spectacular season at the Loft Stage by performing as the entertainment for the 6th annual Loft Stage Opening Night Gala. L’etoile Magazine describes Verskotzi as “an old-school singer-songwriter, that beautifully dying breed of chrysalis that used to dominate the rock universe.. His debut record Lemon Heart is a magnificent example of the form.. power-pop.. chamber-pop (the love of nifty arrangements and perfect harmonies), indie-pop.. perfect melodies & terrific singing all the way through.” Tickets for the November 7th gala are $10.00 and the 6:00pm event is catered by Green Mill. A silent auction to raise funds for theater education, a free photo booth and delicious treats by Mary Bolger will also be a part of our celebration. Purchase tickets to the gala and Into the Woods beginning on October 3rd!
