The competition piece will perform at the Section 3AA Prelims on January 26th, 2016, with the potential for additional performances on February 3rd and February 12th, 2015. Comedy of Errors is our winter play piece. Both plays will be performed side-by-side in our Evening of Shakespeare on February 5 – 7, 2016. Ensemble Players, you will know which specific show(s) you are cast in by Monday, December 14th. Thank you all so much for spending the coming months with us, we are THRILLED! We will see all of you TODAY at 4:30 PM in the Black Box for our first read-through.

Comedy of Errors Callback List
Twelfth Night Callback List

Congratulations Students on your callback! Please be in the Black Box at 4:30pm. Prepare to read for the roles you have been called back for. The numbers indicate the scene(s) we would like to take a look at. Those scenes are attached to this post. Feel free to look ahead and prepare! Narrator/Auxiliary roles, we have some specific scenes for you to look at, but there are still other roles in the mix for those of you on this list; come prepared to be our “auxiliary” players tomorrow.

Everyone come prepared with special talents or instruments that we discussed at initial auditions. We may or may not ask you to play! Pianists, we have a keyboard readily available for you. Also, and this is the biggie, COME PREPARED WITH ALL OF YOUR CONFLICTS IN HAND! This will play a huge role in how you are cast. Be honest and put it all on your conflict sheet/calendar. We are willing to be flexible with our schedule, but communication is key.

Best of luck and THANK YOU for coming prepared and ready to rock on the first 2 days of auditions.

Love,

Auditions for An Evening With Shakespeare will be December 7th and 8th, 4:30 to 6:30, with callbacks on December 9th. We will be producing abridged versions of Shakespeare’s classic comedies, The Comedy of Errors and Twelfth Night. One of these plays (to be determined), will be entered in the MSHSL one-act play competition. We are looking to cast an ensemble of about 25 total students between the two shows. If students are only interested in being considered for one of the pieces, they should indicate so on their audition form.

Students should prepare a monologue or elect one of the monologues below for their audition.  All students should review the monologues posted below.  Below, we have provided links to the Sparknotes translations of the monologues. Students will be reading from the LEFT side of the Sparknotes text, the right side being a modern-day translation to help with meaning and clarity. Hard copies of the monologues will be provided at the auditions.

Please register in advance for an audition time. Students should also bring their personal and family calendar with them to the audition. Sign-up

We hope to see you on December 7th and 8th~

Congratulations to East Ridge on their second place finish at the 3AA Section Finals on Wednesday, February 4th at Park High School. The cast and crew of our one-act cutting of Almost, Maine finished in a mathematical tie with eventual champions Park with the tie broken by judges preference. Woodbury High School came in third in the section making it a clean sweep for South Washington County Schools.
