November LoftPac Minutes

  • Play In A Day : Alumni are writing the short plays (get to meet them)
    • Student directed, costumes, acted, tech etc…
    • If you REALLY want to write talk with Mrs. Carlson (legal issues with staying over all night) December 15 through December 16
  • Little Shop of Horrors : December 15th in the Loft Stage 7pm-10pm, Snacks will be provided ( same night at play in a day)
  • Woodbury High School Musical : High School Musical Thursday, November 16th. We will be carpooling from ERHS at 6pm
  • Women and War : ERHS Winter One-Act directed by Leah Jensen, Audition dates will be December 4th and 5th with callbacks December 6th. Auditions will be in the Black Box Theatre, script is available online at bit.ly/erhsoneact
  • Holiday Party : after Christmas before New Year’s, there will be a white elephant gift exchange, fun activities and BYO Christmas food
  • Loftie Gear : We have Loft merchandise featuring our lovely model, Jimmy, great Christmas/Hannukah/B-Day gifts jackets, beanies, fuzzy blankets and cleaning cloths…if you have merch you’d like to see, talk to one of the officers!
  • Alumni Cabaret : It will be December 22nd in the Black Box Theatre, afterwards there will be a party at Merrill for Mrs. Hestwood
  • Yearbook Day : November 15th (THIS WEDNESDAY) pictures will be taken for the yearbook; wear Loft Gear
  • New York Trip : Date Change, The New York Trip will be over MEA October 18-22, 2018, parent meeting December/January, Fundraising ideas??

  • Triple Threat Auditions : Headshot, Resume, “TLC” Letter – 1-2 pages describing your high school musical theatre experience and how you’ve displayed talent, leadership and community through your artistic work, be sure to include any of your experience with Spotlight Education, Video Submissions Not to exceed 5 minutes. Please include: 2-3 min: two contrasting songs with piano accompaniment, one minute monologue and a clip of you performing provided dance combination, submissions take place March-April 2018

October LoftPac Minutes

  • New York trip will be March/April 2019
  • Butterbraid Fundraiser: selling begins now, orders need to be turned in by Friday, October 27th and pick up will be November 17th (just in time for Thanksgiving) money has to be collected at the time the customer places their order, and checks need to be made out to East Ridge High School. You need to pick up your orders on Friday, November 17th or get someone else to pick it up because we will not have any freezer space to store it.
  • We will be doing a ticket exchange with Woodbury High School to see their musical High School Musical on Thursday, November 16th at 7pm. Let Tony know if you plan to attend so we can get a rough number. We will carpool to Woodbury High School.
  • The Abominables at The Children’s Theatre is Minnesota’s first hockey musical. Carter Bannwarth a 9th grader at East Ridge is in the show, and our one act director Leah is part of the show too!
  • Tickets to Joseph are on sale. Order today Adults: $10 and students/seniors: $8
  • Movie Night @ The Loft on Friday, December 15th 7pm-10pm Do the survey monkey to vote for the movie you want to see: Little Shop of Horrors vs Dr. Horrible’s Sing – Along Blog
  • Loftie Booing has begun! When you get booed, you must boo two more people within two days of being booed with a basket of Halloween-related goods (no more then $20 all together). When you get booed text Tony to get names of people that you must boo 651-769-4781
  • Valley Scare will be Saturday, October 14th from 6:30pm-12am. The cost is $30/person and we will need at least 15 people to go. Cash or checks are acceptable. Checks should be made to “The Loft Stage” We will be carpooling.
  • Newsies at Chanhassen Dinner Theatre on Thursday, April 5th. Registration will open in February.
  • Finish Diamonds ASAP
  • Check out Ashland!
  • Loft party is tonight, Saturday September 9th at 6:30pm at Tony May’s house
  • Auditions will be Monday, September 11th and Wednesday, September 13th with callbacks on Thursday, September 14th.  Please meet right after school in the Loft Theatre. If you are able to audition Monday, please do so.
  • This year the fall musical will be Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat. The one act will be Women and War with the spring play being Scapino!.
  • Lofties will be going to see In The Heights on Sunday, September 17th at the Ordway. We will be meeting at ERHS at 12:45pm to take a bus to the Ordway. There will be more opportunities for shows.
  • There will be a tech meeting on Friday, September 15th immediately after school in the choir room.
  • Don’t forget to get set up on Remind 101, Loftie Newsletter and the Facebook page, so you can keep up to date with Loftie news.
  • We will do a ticket exchange with the Woodbury High School Theatre program to see their fall musical, which is High School Musical!
  • There will be a movie night at the Loft Theatre on Friday, December 15th. We will share the time as it gets closer.
  • We are planning on going to see Newsies at Chanhassen Dinner Theatre and the date and time will be shared at a later date.

Newport Day: On June 2nd 5-7 people per session (there will be 2 sessions 8:15am-9:15am and 9:20am-10:10am) will work with students to get them interested in theatre.

Magic Yarn Project: On May 13th from 10am-1pm and 2pm-5pm we will be meeting in the media center.

Banquet May 17th: tickets will be sold online and parents and families are welcome. Please dress nice. Please send pictures to Nolan. The banquet will start at 6pm.

Relay for Life: go to the Loft Stage student Facebook page to sign up to be a part of the Loftie Team for Relay for Life. You need to raise $100 to get a t-shirt. Start brainstorming ideas for games or things to make and sell to raise money for relay. If you want to decorate a luminaria bag it will cost $10. Even if you can’t be there you can still decorate a bag to be lit the night of relay.

Triple Threat: Juniors and Seniors, there is a recorded (and possibly live) audition and essay. Please talk to Mrs. Hestwood ASAP.

Senior Tassels: Thespian inducted graduation tassels for graduation cap are $12.50 in the Loft Store. If you return it after graduation you will get $8 back.

Spring Play: Register by this Friday or you will not be able to participate. There is a link on the Loft Stage website.

Loft Stage Banquet:.The banquet will be Wednesday May 17th at 6pm in the Loft Theatre

Relay for Life: Join the Loftie Team

International Thespian Conference: If you received a superior rating at the State Thespian Conference you are invited to attend the International Thespian Conference.

Lettering Policy

In order to earn an East Ridge letter in theatre, students must meet the following requirements:

  1. Participate in each of the three main-stage productions in some capacity (e.g. acting, technician, set construction, ushering, etc.).
  2. Earn a bear minimum of ten Thespian points for East-Ridge-related theatre activities (see details above about point allocations).
  3. Complete at least ten set construction hours in the East Ridge scene shop. This total is inclusive of individual production requirements.

Please use the above Google form to input participation as that documentation will be used to track lettering as well.
