Show Description: Charlotte Brontë’s classic comes to life with music to lift your heart and set your spirit soaring. Jane Eyre is a beloved tale of secrets, unimaginable hope, and unspoken passion that reminds us what it is to fall deeply, truly and completely in love. Above all, it paints a vivid portrait of one woman’s steadfast spirit in a challenging and uncertain world. This chamber version of the Broadway musical nominated for five Tony Awards explores religion, sexuality and protofeminism, all while enchanting audiences with a timeless love story.
Please note: All ethnicities and genders are welcome to audition with particular encouragement to Black, Indigenous, AAPI, People of Color and Trans artists. The Loft Stage employs color-conscious and gender imaginative casting for all roles, as culturally appropriate to the telling of the story. Even if you do not see yourself directly reflected in the roles/shows, please feel welcome to audition.
